The man did a sinister laugh and said, "As you wish, your Majesty. I know even a vizier must respect a future Sultan's wishes." He then pointed to a cliff, "We must go through this pass and then head another three or four miles before we reach this tiny well. At the bottom of the well is the staff guarded by snakes."

The man simply said, "The snakes guarding the staff are cobras so yes. I guess you have to choose if your life is less valuable than me taking your mother's life hahaha."

"Good let's just get this over with.." Ali mumbled though he couldn't ignore the sinking feeling he was now getting that there was more to this whole staff thing than this mysterious man was letting them on about.

The man lead them to the well and tied a rope to the harness of his horse before lowering it down into the well for Prince Ali. The strange thing was there were no snakes there guarding it. The man immediately said, "Quick young prince get the staff before the snakes come slithering back to guard it!"

Ali could tell from the looks on Kody and Zia's faces that they had a bad feeling about this and he would be lying if he didn't either but he swallowed it down as he lowered himself down into the well keeping a close eye out for cobras.

As he saw the boy grab the staff the man quickly said, "Hurry up boy and get up here before the snakes return!"
