He sighed. He should've known better he'd be terrible at lying. It was in his genes after all. "Dad. We need to talk. Alone." He spoke before going down the hall.
Aladdin shared a look with Jasmine and Genie wondering what that was about before following Ali to talk.

After Aladdin and Ali left Iago emerged from behind Cassim's back and looked at them all. "Wow I've been away from the palace too long!" He looked at Abu and flew over, "Abu old buddy it's been too long!" He then kissed him before wiping his lips, "Augh! I'll never do that again! And get away from me you flea-bitten monkey!" He then looked over at the Genie and said, "Genie I didn...ah who am I kidding I missed you too." Iago then flew over to Jasmine, "Looking lovely as always Princess, or should I say Queen Jasmine. How about the key to the Royal Treasury hmm? I saved Sultan Al's life plenty of times remember. Ah it is good to be back among the gold."

Once they were out of earshot, Aladdin asked "What's going on Ali? You've been quiet ever since I found you, Cody, and Abu in the desert with your grandfather, Cassim?"
Having thought about what he was going to say exactly the entire way home, Ali had no trouble replying "Oh I don't know. Maybe the fact that everything you told me about your past was a lie." bitterly.
For a moment Aladdin was taken aback. He would be the first to admit that he wasn't a perfect father and that he and Ali did argue once in awhile but the one thing he made sure he never did was lie to his son.
"Ali, what are you talking about?"
"You're a thief, dad! Tell me have you had any trouble controlling the urge to steal from the royal treasury since you moved in here or are you just enjoying the fact that regardless it's all yours now."
Aladdin didn't know if he was more hurt or shocked at Ali's allegations against him. "Ali, I don't know who put this idea in your head but-"
"Yeah yeah I know. You only stole food to survive right? Nice lie almost makes me feel sorry for you, almost." Ali cut him off.
"I did!" Aladdin couldn't help but reply back. It was still an instant reaction he had when he was becoming frustrated or angry to raise his voice.
"Oh yeah? Then why did you steal jewels and money?!"
Finally it dawned on him. He knew exactly what Ali was talking about now.
"Ali there were only two periods of my life when I did that. The first one, which I am sure you're talking about, was when I first met Abu and was shortly led astray by three street performers. As soon as I found out what hurt I was causing people I made up for it and never repeated it." Aladdin told him more calmly if not a little ashamed.
"And the other?" Ali questioned him.
"Stealing goods back from thieves in the thieves court and despite all of Iago and Abu's objections returning it back to the people of Agrabah."
Now Ali felt embarrassed. He looked down and away feeling ashamed by so easily jumping to the conclusion that his father was a horrible man. How could he do that? It was his father and he had always known his parents were good people but being presented with evidence like that.....
"I- I- I-" He stammered trying to think of a good way to say he was sorry.
Aladdin put a hand on Ali's shoulder. "Apology accepted." He replied before hearing Iago's voice echo through the halls. "Sounds like Iago's back too. Shall we go say hello?"
Ali still felt bad but he gave his father a tiny smile and nodded following him down the hall.
"Still begging for the key to the royal treasury, eh Iago?" Aladdin commented as he walked back over to them with Ali following right behind him.

Iago said, "Hey Sultan Al how about that tiny favor for an old friend? I promise to leave you most of the jewels..."

Suddenly a figure in a dark cloak approached the palace doors. As the guards tried to stop him from entering the palace, green eyes, like those of a snake, appeared and hypnotized them into letting the figure pass. He suddenly opened the palace doors with great force, before he started singing a tune, "Prince Ali, Prince Ali yes it is he Ali Abooboo. Strong as 10 arrogant men definitely..."

"Hello Iago. I believe you already know the answer to that question." She replied.
Abu squeaked out a hello before making a gag face at the kiss he had recieved from Iago.
Jasmine looks up as she sees her husband and Son coming back. She frowns worriedly." Is everything alright?" she asked them.

Ali thought he heard something and turned to look down the hall. When he saw no one coming their way, he shrugged it off.
"You know fully well I can't do that Iago." Aladdin told him with a smile. 'Same old Iago.' He thought to himself.
"We'll talk about it later." Aladdin promised Jasmine in a whisper.

Suddenly a hooded figure started to all approach them in the room singing a song, "Prince Ali turns out to be merely Aladdin. Just a con, need I go on, take it from me. His personality flaws give me adequate cause to send him packing on a one-way trip, his prospects taking a terminal dip, his assets frozen, the venue chosen is the ends of the earth, whoopee! So long ex-Prince Ali! HAHHAHA!" He erupted in insane laughter before the hooded figure glared at them with snake-like green eyes under his hood. He lifted his hood suddenly revealing a man underneath before the man said to Aladdin, "We have compensation to discuss street rat." He then motioned towards his son Ali, "I don't think you want young ears to hear what I have to say am I right Prince Ali Abooboo? Hahaha. I suggest you tell your son to leave the room."

'So I wasn't hearing things...' Ali thought to himself as he glared at this newcomer.
"Whatever business you have with me, you can discuss in front of my son as well who you will show some respect to as your future sultan." Aladdin replied trying to ignore the feeling of this man looking very familiar to him.

The man immediately laughed, "HAHAHA! Showing respect to a lowly street rat and his bastard child! Don't make me laugh boy! And before you try and kill me remember that Allah has decreed that a loyal servant of Him who is unarmed must be given safe passageway to the palace to plead his case to the 'sultan.' Now you listen here Aladdin. I see that everyone here is present and accounted for, except one man that is, the vizier Jafar!" He then paused and said, "Well I tried to save your son from my own devices but since you want him to stay here so be it. I come for one who is not able to speak Aladdin, you murdering street rat. Justice in this world must be the same that is given to the crime. Therefore, since you took away from Jafar everything that he held dear to him, I will do the same to you unless I am compensated my wishes!" He paused, "I wish for 80 gold camels to be delivered to my caravan 30 miles to the north. I wish that every man, woman, and child in this wretched city work until their backs are broken making the gold for I demand they are all made in 3 months! I also demand the traitorous bird Iago and your genie! You may think about declining my offer but hear this! I'm being generous boy! Refuse my offer and I'll take away everything that is precious to you, your precious Jasmine, your son, his friends, your genie, your monkey, your kingdom, everything, until you beg me for death and then I'll let you live in agony all the days of your life!" He paused again, "So what will it be 'Sultan'?" Iago immediately flew behind Aladdin, "You wouldn't give me up old pal, old buddy, Al?!"
