For years, we have all seen them. From toys, to bugs, to monsters, fish, superheroes, cars, rats, robots, and even a bond between an eldery old man and a young kid, Pixar is finally doing something new for a change.
And that new movie is called Brave. It won't be coming out til later in the summer which is a long time from now (we still need to wait for spring to come and go first)
I'm actually very interested in seeing it. Why? Because this is the first time we're actually getting a princess from Pixar (as everyone knows, Disney was the whole reasons we got all of the other famous princesses), but nothing like this. Also, if you have notice, this is the second time we're getting a female that's a hed-head (the first one being Ariel from The Little Mermaid) but first time this natural hair of hers is curly.
I did hear the movie was originally called The Bear and the Bow, but for so strange reasons, I don't know why they change the title to something short as Brave. (Kinda reminds me when Tangled used to be called Rapunzel. Go figure! XDD)
The teaser trailer has been around a little bit longer, but thank goodness, we got a full new one. But what surprises me is those scottish accents, if anyone will tell you, they'll probably think it's just gonna be a rip-off from How to Train Your Dragon which I have my doubts on because Brave does NOT have any dragons in them.

Knowing the kind of reputation Pixar has, there's a chance it will have some success, especially in how well they tell their stories and develop their characters in the three-dimensional type. When I first saw the trailer for "Brave," I sort of thought about "How to Train Your Dragon" a bit, but then again, it wouldn't be like that.
As for that title change, I guess "The Bear and the Bow" didn't sound like a marketable title and the filmmakers wanted a title that sounded very bold and, for a lack of a better word, "brave," hence the new title. lol

It's a movie that takes place in Scotland so of course they are going to have Scottish accents as for thinking about How to Train Your Dragon during the trailer I didn't even think about it once.
And for seeing the film, much like any other pixar film I am just gonna wait until it comes to dvd to see it as that is how I prefer to see movies now unless it's something I am dying to see which isn't often lol.
That's not to say I think the film is going to be terrible because I am not saying that I am just saying I'm not sure it's something I would spend 30 dollars to see in the theater if I don't know if I am really gonna like it or not.

I actually didn't think about How to Train Your Dragon at all when I saw this. The first couple of times I saw that trailer, it kept reminding me of Muppet Treasure Island and I couldn't figure out why for the longest time...until I found out the voice actor for the dad/king guy who's narrating the trailer is the same guy who played Billy Bones in Muppet Treasure Island.
Other than that, I'm fairly excited for the film. I want to go and see in it theaters, if for no other reason than that, at least from what I've seen in the trailers, it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Say, how many people think fanfiction.net will be plagued with fanfics of Merida finding "the one" despite the fact that its stated that she wants to stay single after the movie is out?

more than likely but who cares if there is I mean people are always gonna make up their own pairings and oc's regardless of whether they are single or not after all.

I was gonna say the same thing Katie would say.
I don't see the problem if a fictional character like her stays single for the rest of her life. Chances are, if Brave is popular enough to gain a sequel, there's a big 50/50 percent she'll find romance someday.

A lot of people I've talked to on TGWTG are pessimistic about this movie because of the mixed reviews on Rotten Tomatoes; it hasn't even officially come out yet. Than again, the majority of people who are members on that site are cynics.

I have to agree with you Meg. The trailers and commercials didn't make it look good at all so when my sister and I went to go see it in theaters we were on the fence about it but we did enjoy it and bought the blu-ray when it came out.
