It was my favorite movie growing up and I've always liked this movie more than The Aristocats.

i love this movie but always loved the aristocats way better Yeah, I'm kind of the opposite. While I think The Aristocats is cute and all, I think Gay Purr-ee has better, more stylized animation and a bit more of an engaging storyline and more memorable songs (Judy Garland helps too). Another thing I like about this movie is that it teaches you art history:

I grew up on the Aristocats and didn't see Gay Purr-ee until i was about 10 and I have always loved disney movies more than any others but I do love the songs in gay purr-ee even though I am not a fan of judy garland lol.

I actually grew up with Gay Purr-ee before I knew about The Aristocats. In fact, when I first heard about The Aristocats, I thought it was just a rip-off of Gay Purr-ee (and that could possibly be so considering Gay Purr-ee came out a decade before).

Ah I remember Gay Purr-ee very well....okay I lie, not by much. But I do recall seeing it one time on Cartoon Network when I was little. I just mostly remember a couple of parts here and there as well as the characters cause when I look back on it today, I thought to myself "Hmm that white cat looks familiar, where have I seen her before?" And this was just last year ago when I re-discover about it lol! I would love to see the movie again if it was playing on Netflix since I don't have the film XD I find it a pity that this was the only animated feature that Judy Garland did since her personal life was not going well up until she died. I don't think a lot of people remember Gay Purr-ee very much because everyone grew up with The Aristocats during their childhood, I know I had since I did used to have the VHS of that movie as a kid. (I regret not getting the DVD soon, but I was super happy when I heard that a Blu-ray version was coming soon later this summer. YAY!) It'd be great if Gay Purr-ee can be re-leased so newer generations can take a look at this neat flick, but I think they wouldn't be too happy with the title name because the word Gay has changed decades later unless you'd go and explain this perfectly clear to someone so they won't get the wrong message.
