The Frog Princess (Soviet Russian Cartoon Movie)

Not to be confused with Disney's The Princess and the Frog (though I like that movie too), this was an old cartoon movie made in the Soviet Union ad is based off an old Russian folk story. I saw this as a kid and liked it and rediscovered it on Youtube.

This actually isn't too bad of a movie though I do like the disney one better

Yeah, me too, though I wish I could make tapestries out of moon beams and swans come out of my sleeves as well (you have to admit, Princess Vasilisa's magic is pretty cool; imagine if Tiana had those same powers).

Hm...something about this title sounds strangely familar to me. Wasn't there a book about it with the same name? Cause in The Princess and the Frog, they had a book whose title was almost the same, expect it was shorter down to the prince instead if you take a look at the movie again and notice it.

Its not the same story as "The Frog Prince" though; "The Frog Prince" is a French story and "The Frog Princess" is a Russian story.

The Frong Prince is from France and The Frog Princess is from Russia? Oh I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me. I never would of guess that.

Yeah, and it kinda makes sense that Disney decided to base their story more on "The Frog Prince" than "The Frog Princess" since Louisiana was originally a French colony.

When I first saw this movie at Wal-mart, I thought it was a knock-off of the Princess and the Frog and turned my attention away from it, but after reading this thread I might have to check it out on YouTybe, since it appears that it came out before the Disney version, which is something that I never would've never guessed, either!
