How is related to the storyline they go with: She friends with Miguel since they were babies. She help him out as best she could. She knew he didn't fit in sometimes she count him out as so she fit in but always in the end she stuck by him.

Maria ran down the stone streets to get away from the guards that chase her and Jack and Miguel. She glares at them and see Miguel pause to grab the gold he dropped while running. She ran back and grabs his wrist. " Forget it Miguel" She told him as they both ran along.
