OOC: Yes the song I used in that post is called Shoulder to Shoulder and it's from Pooh's Heffalump Movie. They actually play that song from the film in one scene of the movie where Roo and Lumpy are shown playing. (for some reason, I totally forgotten they were also swimming. I've only seen it once when it was on TV lol) And yes, I think I know what you mean after using that little example about Sam. But I guess you can say he's a bit lost right now at the moment since people can easily change their POV about other people quickly without thinking, ya know?
BIC: "This is a nice lovely place!" Sam spoken while he had been enjoying puffing his smoking pipe while watching the sunset with Angel. "Hard to believe none of us have ever encounter it before."
"I never believe I would've." Angel says smiling. The two of them had spend a lot of time hanging out so much and even bonded very well with the birds and tortoises, that they had forgotten to look for a way back to find the rest of their fellow friends. But even the two halflings knew they couldn't stay there forever. Checking out the gorgeous sunset brought peace to the queen's heart, forgetting all about her worries and having to look back to those sweet moments of watching the sunset back at home with her husband. But to see it with a newly found friend was a nice thing too.
A lot of things occur to Sam's mind as well; if he was not thinking about one thing, it would be another. He was not the type of hobbit to be concern so much about what the future should hold up for them, whether he would want to know or not. He stopped smoking his pipe and turned to look at the queen hobbit/wizard. "Angel?"
"Yes?"
"Have you thought up plans about your future retirement yet?" Sam asks.
"Retirement?" Angel repeated confusedly at the hobbit.
Sam nodded a bit. "Mmm-hmm! With Grace next in line as the future queen, you've must of thought of something by now. Once you and Frodo passed down the title over to her I meant."
A smile came to the queen's face as she scoffed and shook her head. "Samwise, the answer is so simple, you did not have to ask!" She replied. "It's easily obvious; By the time Tristan and Grace are crowned king and queen, I'm going to be there celebrating their lifetime of happiness, and together I know Frodo, Emily and her husband will also be doing the same." She added, getting so overly excited that she couldn't help but squeal in delight. "Oh I can't wait! Someday soon, my daughter will go from a Baggins to Mrs. Greenleaf! I wonder how many grandchildren they will be giving us. I hope as many as possible!" She started pondering the idea out loud. "Oooh, do you think they will name one of them after me? I've always wanted a future descendant of mine to be named after me. On second thought, it wouldn't matter if they do or not. But if they needed any ideas to help them with their names, I can always give them a helping hand."
"UGH!!" Sam growled noticeably that he purposely turned his back away from the queen, feeling big emotions of envy and jealously inside of him that he had to forced himself to keep his mouth shut about it. He hated hearing about the same topic again. The hobbit hated it so much that he was started to wonder why at all he dislike it so strongly that he hadn't thought it long enough to figure it out why.
Angel stop talking instantly and frowned. "He loathes the idea! But why? I do not understand him. I thought he would be more supportive of it by now." She thought to herself, wishing she could see what was about it that makes it such a big huge problem for Sam. "I'm sorry Sam..." She apologized to the hobbit. It was a bit strange apologizing over something she couldn't stop talking about despite the fact that she doesn't know what type of guy Tristan was like around other people, but given the description about him according to Gimli and Emily, she trusted that Tristan was indeed a good man and knew that he would be the perfect right man for her daughter. "It's just that I--" She try explaining, but got quickly interrupted by him fast.
"I get it, you don't have to go explaining!" Sam says, briefly looking to Angel over by his shoulder. "You believed what you wanna go believing. Because hope is a good thing to have. It gives us courage to see things others don't see. And that's what you have. Hope is almost like trying to make a wish; if you wish hard enough, it's sure to come true."
"Do you really think so?" Angel asks, feeling a lot better to hear some encouragement. But Sam didn't answer right away, so he didn't exactly wanted to stay on the subject for too long because it wasn't his type of interest.
Then, an idea came to him to get their minds off it. "I've thought of something." Sam says, then turns all the way back to faced the queen. "For our celebration after we win the war, we should planned a vacation; you, me, Frodo, Rosie and the kids. We could stay a bit at The Shire for a while. My wife and I made a promise when our children were old enough, we'd go stopped by there to visit our relatives. I'm sure of it Tom and Goldie will be thrilled to see their grandparents, aunts and uncles again."
Given how he was sent, along with Gandalf, Merry and Pippin to keep the children safe in hobbiton, Sam sadly wasn't able to find the time to visit any of his own family members nor with Rosie's before all of the children had gone off in their own fellowship. But now, with any given hopeful luck, it might not even be too late. "You can come and meet everyone from Rosie's side of the family and mine. My brothers would definitely liked you, and I know you'll get along greatly with my sisters."
But the invite all sounded far too sudden and much too soon to be planned out so early. "First, he gives me permission to spend quality time with his wife, now this!?" Angel thought to herself while also being very surprised by it at the same time. This time, it was now her being the one looking away. It was so hard for the queen to turn down such a friendly suggestion of an offer, that she already bad and guilty enough not to be sharing why.
"It's too soon, isn't it?" Sam asks, knowing deeply well that Angel's sudden quietness was the only excuse to turn him down on the offer.
"It's not that, it's--" Angel began trying to explain, but was cut off guard when an elf riding on a horse suddenly approached the two halflings. He revealed that he had been send by Galadriel to come find the two missing hobbits to bring them to Lothlorien where their friends would be awaiting for them. So without any hesistation, Sam and Angel agree to go with the elf because they were eager to see them all again.
They were brought back by nightfall when suppertime was just about ready to get served. While they were waiting for at least one familiar face to come and greet them, the smell of a delicious side order caught the queen's scent. "Do you smell that?" She asks Sam.
Sam also sniffed the yummy tasty smell of the food as well. "I know that smell anywhere. That's--"
"POTATOES!" Angel cheered, and went right after to where the smell was coming from with Sam trying to go after her. Eventually, the queen came across not one bowl, not two but three serving bowls of mashed potatoes. "At last!" Angel had spoken, taking one last smell of the freshed yummy food. "Food, glorious food!" The hobbit/wizard could not wait another second, so she started digging in with just using only her bare hands to scoop it up and chow down.
"Still the same oddball of royalty." Sam mutter to himself as he rolled his eyes and shake his head watching the queen devour her meal. If there was one thing that never changed about the queen, it was when she gets over excited over the smallest amount of random things, just like the first time when she first lay eyes on The Shire and got over hyped up a child tasting it's first bit of candy. "You might wanna slow down there and saved some for me." Sam was saying as he made his way towards Angel and try to get her to stop eating so much by placing one hand on her shoulder and using the other hand to reach for the bowl Angel had her hands on it, but because she was so hungry eating pretty much all there was from it, Angel didn't expect to suddenly become so startled by surprise by Sam's presence that she accidentally had taken a handful of mashed potatoes and threw it right at Sam's face, even catching him off guard as well.
Angel gasped in shock that she accidentally drop the bowl on the ground. "Samwise, I am deeply sorry." She apologized. "You startled me."
Sam would've made a face if he could, but it was very hard to read with his face being cover in mashed potatoes that it began to drip off a bit. The hobbit wiped off the other half out. "So....this is where it's come to be, is it?" He teased.
"What are you doing?" The queen asked as she watched Sam take a hold of the other fresh bowl of mashed potatoes and quickly realized what he was planning on doing on next the second he right away dipped his hand in and grabbed a single handful of mashed potatoes himself. "NO! No no no! No, don't you dare Samwise!" She warned him as she was slowly backing away from him. "Don't you even go there!"
"You know, I usually don't like seeing good food going to waste, but--" Sam paused by purpose only to throw Angel off guard by throwing the mashed potatoes right at her face. "HA! In your face!!" He laughed, pointing right at her.
Angel's mouth dropped low in shocked, but she wasn't going to back out now and let him get away with it. "Ooooh you're gonna get it now!!" She told him and grabbed the last bowl of mashed potatoes. Thus, it turn into a quick mashed potato food fight with them running around, chasing after the other flinging mashed potatoes everywhere in the air, on the ground and right at each other. The two of them try to duck avoided to being hit, but they failed miserably at it.
Noticing the sounds of playful screaming coming somewhere closed by, the hobbits knew they could not ignored it. "What is that? Pippin asked, wondering where those noises were coming from. "Where's it coming from?"
"I don't know, but we better see what it is." Says Frodo. As king, it was best to lead and what was the cause of the big commotion. When they finally saw what was the cause of it, Frodo was in shocked. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!?" He cried out loud right at his wife and best friend.
Both Sam and Angel froze in their throwing poses and look at the kingly hobbit to their surprise of getting caught. "Frodo!?" They both said in unison.
Sam instantly drop the bowl from his hands where it hit the ground. "Uh...nothing?" He answered, feeling quite embarrassed that he look like a big old mess in front of Frodo, so he look away in shame.
"Aww, tonight's side orders for supper is ruined." Pippin frowned sadly. Much like his son Amir, he hated seeing good food going to waste; especially when it could be a very important side order to help filled up their tummies. They happened to be lucky they all waited for the mashed potatoes to cool off otherwise Sam and Angel wouldn't have ended up getting into a food fight with it, whatever caused them to do it in the first place.
"You come back and the first thing you two do is get into a food fight?" Frodo asks Angel and Sam, still trying to understand what could of started them doing so at all. Normally whenever he would watch his best friend and wife fight, it would always be through hurting words like insults, but to catch them red-handed by making good food go to waste by flying around everywhere made no sense for the hobbit king.
"Uhh...." Sam had no words to explain the issue, still at a big of a loss for it.
Frodo crossed his arms to his chest and gave the hobbit a bit of suspicious kind of look at him. "Sam...what was the meaning of this? I know very well it was you." He says to him.
"Mmm nope! Not this time." Sam says with his hands behind his back to show that he was innocent and lightly kicking the bit of fallen mashed potatoes from the ground with his foot that just so happened to be in front of his toes. Angel on the other hand had nothing else to say, but didn't wanna end up any blame on her part either. She try her best to act cool, but failed so with a hearty mischief of a smiling look on her face.
Pippin went silently mouthed the words "oooh" so it would go unnoticeable by his cousin. While Frodo may not have seen it, Pippin did. "We missed a lot when they were away, hadn't we Merry?" Pippin whisper over to Merry, snickering a bit.
