Into the Forbidden Forest (A Quest for Camelot RP)

This takes place shortly after Garrett loses his sight and leaves to become a hermit after Sir Lionel's death and mostly focuses on his teenage years growing up and learning how to survive in the Forbidden Forest. I'll play Garrett.

Garrett woke up from sleeping on a moss covered boulder with aches and pains on his back; he was much more use to sleeping in a makeshift cot back home in Camelot, but there was nothing worth going back there; not after all the cruelty and loss of the only friend he had in that world. No, now Garrett must start a new in the Forbidden Forest.

Ayden flew high above in the air after his master Merlin had sent him off in search of the small stable boy who ran away after the death of Sir Lionel into the Forbidden Forest.

He let out a calling cry as he flew his keen eyes keeping a look out for any sign of the small boy as he had been assigned the task to find him and look after him.

Garrett was startled and nearly fell to the ground after hearing a loud screech, almost as if it had come from some sort of bird.

"Who's there?" he called out, hoping for a response.

Ayden let out another screeching call as he heard Garrett's voice flying down swiftly and gracefully towards him

Garrett could hear wings flapping towards him and felt a small breeze from the bird's wings as it landed right next to him. He didn't know what to make of the situation as his hand accidentally touched the bird's soft feathers and was surprised to find that it neither flinched nor tried to peck at him. True, Garrett often saw he had more of a connection with animals than he would with people working as a stable boy, but normally they wouldn't be this brave when first meeting him, especially a wild animal like this.

"Well, umm, its nice to meet you my feathered friend, but I best be on my way."

Garrett grabbed his staff as he got up and slowly walked away.

Ayden had remained still as the small blind boy gently petted his feathers but as he started to leave he immediately flew after him

Garrett stopped as he sense the bird flying toward him.

"Look, I'm sorry, but I don't have time to make friends now; I need to be on my own."

Ayden still continued to follow him stubbornly determined to not let the boy out of his sight. The forbidden forest was forbidden for a reason after all since it was one of the most dangerous places around especially if you didn't know where you were going or what you were doing.

Garrett was getting pretty annoyed with the bird persistently following him. He was a hermit now; he didn't need anyone's help. However, Garrett was too distracted to notice the plant he hit his staff up against as it opened its mouth wide and grabbed Garrett. He was now in a panic as he had dropped his staff and had no way to defend himself.

Ayden let out a loud screech as if it were a battle cry as he immediately dove for the plant his talons out and ready before he sunk them down into the plant as hard and as fast as he could to make the plant release garrett attacking it repeatedly

Garrett dropped to the ground with a thud, realizing that the bird had saved his life. He sighed, letting himself collect after such a traumatic incident. He didn't know whether it was fate that brought them together or just sheer coincidence, but Garrett realized that this bird wasn't going to leave his side and that he may now have a companion for life; perhaps not a guardian angel, but this bird seemed like someone he could count on to be there for him whenever he was in need.

"Alright, you can come with me." Garrett said, shaking his head with a smile, getting up and grabbing his staff. "Well, since we're going to be together, I guess you'll need a name then."

Ayden flew over to gently land on Garrett's shoulder doing well not to scratch him with his sharp pointed talons fluffing his feathers lightly in agreement to Garrett's words.

Garrett could feel the bird land on his shoulder. He smiled a bit petting the bird's feathers.

"I don't know why, but I'm thinking of calling you Ayden; that was the name of the wizard Merlin's brother and something about meeting you almost seems magical."
